We are in the process of building an exciting new online walk-through of the community centre. Please check back with us soon.
The main hall is a light and airy space, ideal for parties, presentations and exhibitions, and dance and fitness activities. This is our largest indoor space, with the original beams and cast-metal radiators letting the character of the Victorian building shine through. It also has a wooden tiled floor which has recently been restored, and helps to add a warm and friendly atmosphere to your event or activity.
This is a flexible space, capable of hosting larger numbers of people, with tables and chairs available depending on the type of activity being undertaken. Download this sheet if you require the hall’s dimensions.
Rooms for your meetings and activities
The centre has 2 meeting rooms available for hire. The larger room, known as the Art Room and which is accessed via the hall or the Kitchen Reception, is suitable for group activities and meetings. The room is used for a range of activities by community groups, such as arts and crafts. The room is usually laid out with tables and chairs, but these can be removed or rearranged to provide a clear space suitable for smaller-scale physical activities – such as with our gentle exercise classes.
A further meeting room, known as The Hub is available directly off the Library Reception area. The room has free WIFI access, with large flat-screen monitor to connect to a laptop. Tables and chairs are available to configure the seating layout as you wish. We also have IT equipment available to hire:
- Large flat screen TV on a trolley
- Laptop Projector
- Projection screen
- Owl Pro hybrid conference device
Reception Area and Library
The Library, previously located at the other end of the building, is now a light and airy open space straight through the main entrance. This service continues to be run by Bristol City Council and is open 10-2 Monday/Wednesday/Saturday and 1-5 Tuesday/Friday. There is a small meeting area open to all during Library hours, which could be hired for informal meetings/events when the Library is closed. The Centre reception is also located here.
ACC has a large outside space to the rear of the building. This is an enclosed space, accessible only via the centre itself. This makes it a more secure space for outside events, and easier to keep track of any children. The enclosed outdoor games pitch is suitable for five-a-side football, etc. and has basketball nets. There is also a garden at ACC, which is a wonderful and sunny space during the warmer months, and is an ideal setting to host a children’s party or barbecue.
Both the pitch and garden are next to residential buildings. We therefore expect anyone hiring these spaces to respect our neighbours and enjoy using the space without causing them disturbance.
If you would like to hire any of the above spaces or find out more about them, including availability and a suitable rate, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.
